Victoria Griego Guzman, Lola as she was fondly known, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 20, 2005 at Las Cruces Nursing Center. Lola was born to Felipe Griego and Refugia Apodaca on November 17, 1909 in Berino, New Mexico. A life long resident of the area, she was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. Lola is survived by four sons, Felipe Guzman and his wife Estella of Las Cruces, NM; Cruz Guzman of Orange Cove, CA; Rudy Guzman and his wife Josie of Las Cruces, NM; and Joe Guzman and his wife Dolores of Orange Cove, CA. Four daughters, Mary Duran of Roseville, CA; Vicky Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; Jenny Florez of Hemet, CA and Pricilla Nevarez of Visalia, CA. 49 Grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren, and 78 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Vicente in 1996, two sons Francisco and Gilbert; five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Three brothers, Paul Griego, Felipe Griego, and Cruz Griego and one sister, Cecelia Cordova. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 from 5 to 7 PM at Getz Funeral Home where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral with Fr. Robert Power officiating. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers will be Paul, Eddy, Jerry, Ricky, Freddy, and Jamie. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip, Steve, Vince, Johnny, Joseph, Angel, Derrick, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, and Gary. PDF Printable Version
