Sarah Jane Law

July 1, 1920 — July 16, 2008

Family and friends will come together to celebrate and give thanks for the life of Sarah Jane Law, who passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Sarah was a native New Mexican. She was born in Roswell, NM to Michael and Lucille Niederkorn. In her early teens the family moved to Las Cruces where she attended Las Cruces Union High School. After graduation she attended New Mexico A&M. On May 31, 1942 she married the love of her life, Donald T. Law, and began a 32-year marriage until he died in January 1976. Sarah had such a love for her family gathered around her; her warm and inviting home; the love of soil in her hands as she planted in her garden; a picnic in the mountains; Sunday at the lake skiing; sharpening her bridge skills for her weekly bridge games that she enjoyed immensely; and a chat on the phone with her friends. Sarah is survived by her son Barry Don Law and wife Gayle of Las Cruces, NM and daughter Donna Jane Wheatley and husband Jack of San Antonio, TX. Four grandchildren survive her as well. Michael Don Law of Denver, CO, Shannon Law Bollschweiller of Las Cruces, NM, Meghan Lauren Wheatley Scully and husband Matthew of Austin, TX and MacKenzie Law Wheatley and wife Julie of Washington D.C. Sarah is also survived by her great-grandson Jeffrey Bollschweiller of Las Cruces, NM. Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at St. James Episcopal Church, Mesilla Park, NM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations please be made to Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley, 3551 Bataan Memorial West.
