Richard Gabriel Trujillo

It is with sorrowful hearts we announce that on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, Richard Gabriel Trujillo passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the age of 33, after a dauntless battle with cancer. Richard was born on August 11th, 1989, to Ruben Gabriel Trujillo and Jeanie Marie (Cundiff) in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Richard had the disadvantage of having cerebral palsy, but he never let it slow him down. He graduated from New Mexico State University with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He worked at White Sands Missile Range as a computer programmer. He was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan, a Jeff Gordon fan, enjoyed video gaming, and he was an avid chess player. Being a great car enthusiast, he was also a great mechanic. He was an artist, a musician, enjoyed collecting, and loved being outdoors. Although a quiet one, he was loved by so many family members and friends. We'll miss his smile and quiet "Hello." as he walked into a room. Richard is survived by his father, Ruben Trujillo, his stepmother Christine Trujillo, his stepfather Jerry Lopez, his brothers Robert Trujillo, Isaac Stanaland, Christopher Stanaland, and Joseph Trujillo, and his grandmothers, Kim Cundiff and Rebecca Trujillo. He is predeceased by his mother, Jeanie (Cundiff) Lopez (2014), and his grandfathers, Don Cundiff (2022) and Rafael Trujillo (2014). The viewing will take place at Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 5:00 pm, followed by a rosary at 7:00 pm. The service will be on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe church in Tortugas, New Mexico, followed by the burial at the Garfield cemetery in Garfield, New Mexico. There will be a small reception at the church hall from 2-4 pm.
