Mike J. Hamilton

February 16, 1930 — February 3, 2007

Mike Hamilton, 76, of Las Cruces died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007. He was born Feb. 16, 1930 in Dixon County, Nebraska to Joseph and Victoria Klein Hamilton. Mike was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably as an infantry officer. He was also a Mathematician at White Sands Missile Range Proving Ground, a Physical Scientist/Physical Science Administrator at White Sands Missile Range and a Supervisor Engineer for NASA. He was also a volunteer math tutor, a laborer for Habitat for Humanity and a volunteer driver delivering food to the homebound. Mr. Hamilton will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Lois Hamilton of the family home; 5 children Pat, Bill, Mark, Vicki and Jerry and their spouses Cheryl, Caren, Paulette, Mohamad and Catherine. He is also survived by ten grandchildren. Mike was preceded in death by his son Philip and two brothers Pat and Lloyd. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM on Sunday, Feb.11, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7:00 PM. His funeral mass is at 10:00 AM on Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Msgr. John Anderson officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
