Mary V. Magallanes

Mary Magallanes, a life long resident of Las Cruces, NM passed away peacefully in her home Monday evening, August 27, 2007. Mary was born December 25, to Antonio and Margarita Urbina in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Gutierrez, husband, Valentine Magallanes; daughter Julia Padilla; brothers: Johnny, Roy, Eliseo, Bochie, and Robert; and sister Lola She is survived by sisters: Dee Dee and Harty; daughters: Bonnie Moore, Irene Wright and husband Robert, Bea Trujillo and husband Henry. Sons: Gene Gutierrez, Sonny Chandler and wife Stephanie, Larry McDonald and wife Becky; grandchildren: Bea Barela, Bonnie Marie Alpha, Lolie Guerrero, Chris Guerreo, Paul Gene Guerreo , Felix Villegas, Edith Shipley and husband Philip, Mary Smith and Husband Billy, Andrew Villegas and companion Jerriette, Lawrence Lucero, Anthony Gutierrez and wife Misty, Ben Gutierrez, Jesse Gutierrez, Maria Gutierrez, Hanna Gutierrez, Genevieve Gutierrez, Francis, Patsy, Joanna, Orly, and Ana; great-grandchildren: Michelle O'Brian, Adrianna Villegas, Nicole Villegas, Will Smith, Elise Gutierrez, Ava Gutierrez, Anthony Martinez, Amber Martinez, Aryen Villegas, Mark Villegas, Mercedes Lucero, Andres Lucero, Joshua Lucero, Angie, Brian, John-John, Gordon, Thomas, Tara, Jocelyn, Morgan, Nathan, Chandler; great great-grandchildren: Joseph Martinez, Ryan Martinez, Lauren O'Brian, Isaiah Cuevas. And the many foster children's lives she touched. A heartfelt thanks to Juana, Abigail, Myeesha, Bernice Teri and Ambercare for the gentle love and care they gave our mother. Words cannot express the void we now have in our lives and hearts. Mom's love for us was unconditional and without bounds. We thank God for blessing us with her caring presence for so many years. We love and miss you, Mom. You will always be in our hearts and in the hearts of all those whose lives you touched. Pallbearers will be Felix Villegas, Lawrence Lucero, Wil Smith, Anthony Gutierrez, Larry McDonald, and Sonny Chandler. Visitation will take place from 5 to 7PM on Friday August 31, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel with a Prayer Vigil to follow at 7PM. The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday September 1, 2007 at Our Lady Of Health Catholic Church, at 10AM with the rite committal to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
