We are deeply saddened by the passing of Eva R Martinez who went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Eva Ramirez Martinez was born April 21, 1930 to Julia Ramirez and Francisco Contreras (who proceed her in death), in Mesquite New Mexico. She was raised on a farm in Mesquite along with her three younger brothers Pedro (Pete) Contreras, Fernando Contreras, and Carlos (Charlie) Contreras. She met the love of her life, Frank G Martinez in 1957, got married in 1958 and had four beautiful daughters: Lorenza M Alonso, Patricia Soto (Eligio), Rosamaria Cabrera and Gloria Bustamante (Robert). In her 93 years of life, Eva was also blessed with 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Eva was a kind woman with a strong Catholic faith work ethic, and great family values. Eva's family loved when cooked. Especially her menudo, biscochos, and gorditas. She also loved tending to her rose bushes and going on morning walks to Young's park. Eva worked for White Sands Missile range for thirty years until her retirement. After Retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and watching her novelas. Holidays were always at "grandma's house." The whole family would gather together and have fun. Eva also had quite the sense of humor and loved making the grandkids laugh. She was the true glue of our family and always put them before herself. Eva was preceded in death by her husband Frank G. Martinez, daughter Lorenza Martinez Alonso, brothers Pete and Charlie Contreras sister- in- laws Socorro Contreras, Margarita Contreras, Gloria Sano, and Carmen, son-in-law Encarnacion Cabrera and grandson Marc A.
