Irene T. Keith

Irene T. Keith, age 64 of Las Cruces NM, was unexpectedly reunited with her parents in heaven on June 27, 2012. Irene was born on January 20, 1948, in Cd. Juarez, Mexico to Jose and Margarita Trevizo. She was the third child and first daughter of twelve children. Irene believed strongly in family, community responsibility, education and hard work as her way of life. She attended New Mexico State University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; later attended Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, TX, earning her Master's Degree in Business Administration. She was amongst the first Hispanic female Certified Public Accountants in Las Cruces, NM; an accomplishment which her entire family was very proud of. When not hard at work, attending to the needs of her Business as a self-employed CPA, property manager, and real estate entrepreneur in New Mexico and Texas; Irene loved to spend time with her family. She especially found joy in her grandchildren. She loved watching football, swimming, sightseeing, hiking, biking, skiing, and traveling. She also enjoyed reading both professionally and leisurely, gardening, roasting green chile, making enchiladas, and yes, - watching her novelas. Most of all, Irene's heart laid in helping those who could not help themselves; children and animals. Irene gave of herself to all who asked - regardless of circumstances. All she expected in return was an honest, respectful, and ethical relationship. Irene is survived by her husband of 26 years, Barry Keith, and by her children; U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel John Herrera and wife Funda; Susan H. Widner and husband Mickey; U.S. Air Force Major Ernest Herrera Jr. and wife Nicole; Laurie Garcia and husband Gabriel; Jose Trevizo, Cardiel Trevizo and wife Audrey; Arturo Trevizo and 13 grandchildren; and by her brothers and sisters; Manuel Trevizo, Ramon Trevizo, Raul Trevizo, Ester Jimenez, Jose Trevizo Jr., Hilda Hanson, Bertha Lujan, David Trevizo, Virginia Sanchez, Oscar Trevizo, and Lourdes Marie Trevizo; along with their respective spouses, plus numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Filiberto "Beto" Trevizo. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM where a Prayer Vigil will follow at 7:00 at Getz Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary with Fr. Ray Flores officiating.
