Herminio Grijalva, 83, lifelong resident of Arrey, NM died Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was born Jan. 8, 1930 in Arrey, NM to Simon and Eliboria Bencomo Grijalva. Herminio was a member of the San Jose Mission, enjoyed doing Sudoku puzzles, the outdoors, farming, genealogy and taking day trips, but his passion was for his family. Mr. Grijalva will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Bertha Grijalva of the family home; son Louis Grijalva and wife Sabrina of Las Cruces; daughters Norma Grijalva of Las Cruces and Sylvia Grijalva of Chandler, AZ; brother Jose Grijalva of Arrey, NM; sisters Rosa Perez and Erlinda Apodaca both of Las Cruces and Maria Martinez of Scottsdale, AZ. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Jesse, Makayla and Nicholas. Herminio was preceded in death by his son Arnold, parents and brothers Jesus and Antonio. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at San Jose Mission in Arrey, NM where a rosary will follow at 7 pm. A funeral mass to celebrate his life is at 10 am on Thursday, April 4, 2013 also at the San Jose Mission with Fr. Josh Duplissey officiating. Rite of Committal will be at the Arrey Cemetery. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Daniel and Rene Gutierrez, Steve and Luis Martinez, Art and Frank Perez and Angel Palacios. PDF Printable Version
