It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of our son and brother, Harvey Paul Krauskopf, "Buddy" aka "Smiley", age 53, who died at his home on the family farm in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Harvey was born on July 13, 1961 in El Paso, Texas to Paul T. and Ruth E. (Hervey) Krauskopf. He grew up in Las Cruces with one brother and sister and graduated from Mayfield High School in 1979. Harvey proudly served in the United States Air Force, achieved the rank of Airman Senior and was honorably discharged in 1996. He worked for Woodward Lumber, Hope Lumber and most recently had been employed by the local Lowe's Home Improvement for the last 14 years since the store's opening in 2001. He was a Department Sales Manager of the lumber department. He was a highly esteemed and valued employee who trained and mentored many staff members. According to numerous co-workers one of his favorite sayings was "You got it!" because no matter what was asked of him he would always smile and get "it" done! A few of his many interests included working on the family pecan farm, professional wrestling, and helping his dad care for their cats. Harvey is survived by his parents Paul and Ruth Krauskopf, his brother Rodney Krauskopf, his sister Jerri Krauskopf Forsyth and her life companion James Douglass, all of Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to all the first responders who assisted so diligently with his untimely death. A sincere thank you is due for Harvey's extended family at Lowe's Home Improvement for the love, care and compassion expressed to Harvey and his family. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Getz Funeral Home. PDF Printable Version
