Our Loving Mother, also known as "Grandma", Acila C Martinez, was called home to Our Lord early Saturday morning, January 15, 2005. She was born June 28,1929 in Central, New Mexico to Margarita Perez and Adolpho Carbajal. She was the mother of 10 and a "Grandmother" to not only her own grandchildren but to all who were lucky enough to have been touched by her love and wisdom. She was part of the Foster Grandparent Family for 15 years and served The Hatch Public School System. She is survived by sisters Angelita Garcia, Refugia, "Cuca" Carbajal, Catalina Torres, and brothers Willie , Jessie, and Henry Martinez and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Children include: Margie Torres, Vina and Fred Valenzuela of Deming, Dorothy, "Dottie" Martinez and Maria and Nick Nicolet Of Colorado, Ruby Garcia of Houston, Texas, Cesar and Sue Martinez of Phoenix, Arizona, and Julio, "Ray" and Gayle Martinez, Tom and Paula Martinez, Elaine and Frank Padilla and Jonathan and Tiffany Martinez of Las Cruces. Grandchildren include Patricia, Jerry, and Joanne Torres, Rachel and Virginia Martinez, Mark and Lindsey Martinez, Aaron Martinez Wellesley, Marcie and Bryan Nicolet, DJ Kimbrough, Cathy and SahDeyna Martinez, David and Paul Valenzuela, Jamie, Brianna, Corey and Jenna Martinez, Cesar Martinez, Tanner and Kevin Mansur, and Marina, Daniel, Joshua, and Joanna Padilla. Great-Grandchildren include Britt and Brendon Martinez, David Kriegel, Joseph Martinez Wellesley, Angelica Torres and Jazmin Renteria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cesario Martinez, her son, David Ronald Martinez, her grandson Justin Ray Martinez, her sisters Isidra Carbajal, Betty Ledesma, Lugardita, "Lugi" Carbajal, and her brothers Adolfo, "Sonny" Carbajal, and Valentin, "Tino", Carbajal. Pallbearers will be Paul Valenzuela, Tanner and Kevin Mansur, Mark Martinez, Aaron Martinez Wellesley, Jerry Torres with Bryon Nicolet serving as an Honorary Pallbearer. A Rosary will be cited @ 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 At Our Lord of Mercy Parish in Hatch, NM. The Funeral will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2005 @ 10 a.m. with Fr.
