Mrs. Doris Arlene Lucht passes away April 25, 2023 following a short bout with cancer. She is survived by her children Gregory, Stephanie, Katrin (Gary, son Ben), Garret (Holly, sons Brandon and Aaron), Andrew (daughter Allyson), and by Denise Briggs and Keli Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband Don, her son Matthew, and her sister CJ Goodner.
Dori was born in Nebraska on May 27, 1934 and grew up in Midwest and in southern Colorado. She met her husband while both were attending Colorado State University and they wed on June 10, 1955. They moved to Las Cruces while Don attended NMSU and then moved to Midwest for a couple of years until Dori told him that she wanted to be in New Mexico. Upon their return, Dori noted that she was home ad wasn’t leaving again.
Dori was a voracious reader and consumer of murder mysteries, cookbooks and cooking shows, and travel documentaries, She followed current events and was informed, educated, thoughtful, and insightful. She was full of joy and appreciation and was humble and grateful every day. To be liked by Dori was fun; to be loved by her was a gift. To be loved and liked by Dori was blessing and an honor.
