The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Harold Wright can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Howdy’s jokes

The last time I saw Uncle Howdy in person was in late June, early July 2015. Family reunion in New Mexico. He shared a couple stories with me about his recent doctor visits. How he gamed his doctors.

First one: He had a small skin lesion removed from his forearm surgically. On his doctor visit after surgery he asks "Hey doc? I thought you knew what that lesion was". The doctor replies "Yeah, I knew what it was, I took it off". Howdy says "Then why does my scar look like a question mark?". Brilliant! The doctor was baffled.

Second one: Some random doctor visit, Howdy asks "Hey doc, what's the leading cause of death?". Doctor replies...Uuhh, cancer, heart disease, obesity.. whatever. Howdy says "Nope, you're wrong. It's birth". He's right. 100% of people born are going to die. It includes all of us.

Harold Wright was one of a kind. There's been only one person like him. He stands out of the crowd for his tenacity, work ethic, love for his family, supernatural skills and unique humor.

I miss you already Uncle Howdy.
