Edward Enriquez, 83, passed away on May 16, 2022 in Las Cruces, NM surrounded by his loved ones. Edward was born on November 21, 1938 in La Union, NM to Jose B. and Angela M. Enriquez. He was a loving and funny uncle to his nieces and nephews who loved their “Uncle Eddie”. He enjoyed movies, cooking, eating Mexican food, saltwater taffy, and loved his beloved companion cat, Frisky. He was a proud veteran having served our country in the United States Air Force where he was a cook. He enjoyed cooking and was good at it. His clam chowder was delicious! He will be missed by those he left behind.
He is preceded in death by his father Jose B. Enriquez, mother Angela M. Enriquez, sister Romelia Enriquez, brother Jose Diego Enriquez, two infant sisters Alma and Yolanda Enriquez, and niece Angie Enriquez.
He is survived by brother Armando (Joan), brother Henry (Linda), nieces MaryEllen (John), Christina (Goddaughter) (Greg De La Torre), Lourdes, Henrietta, Melinda, Marisol (Jeff), Angelica (Ben) and nephews Joseph (Bonnie), David (Stephanie), Michael (Perrin), and Mario.
Their families include Edward’s grandnieces Anna, Cynthia, Lucy, Arianna, Elliot, Katherine, Rowan, Carlina, Sophie and grandnephews; Nick, Christopher, Greg, Andrew, Esteban, Estevan, Nicolas, Samuel, Nathan, Miguel, and Max.
Services with military honors will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at St. Genevieve’s Church with visitation beginning at 9:00am, Rosary at 10:00am, and Mass at 10:30am. Burial will follow immediately at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
