Mr. Padilla passed away peacefully at the family home on April 18, 2022. He was born on August 14, 1950, to Luis Padilla Sr. and Julieta Aquiar, in El Paso, TX. The 2nd oldest of 6 siblings he grew quickly and did what he could for his brothers and sister. He moved to Las Cruces in 1967 where he started tree trimming and later began his career with the Las Cruces Public Schools. He enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to music, riding his Harley, and being the life of the party.
He was proceeded in death by his brother Luis Padilla Sr. He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Linda Padilla, his children Lisa Padilla, Raul Padilla Jr (Leah and granddaughter Aaleah), and Evelyn Padilla (Andrea and grandson Kaden) all of the family home. He also leaves behind his daughter Arlene Watson (grandchildren Brett, Aaron, Taylor, and Madison), along with his sister Pilar DeLaTorre, brothers, Jesus Padilla Sr., Danny Padilla, and Eddie Holguin Sr.
Services for Mr. Padilla will be on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by rosary at 10:00 a.m. and Mass at 10:30 am. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery immediately after.
