Obituary for Deborah Jean Coulter

Deborah Jean Coulter
Deborah Coulter (67) passed away on Saturday April 9, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Deborah was a very strong, supportive, and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Deborah was an empathic advocate, passionate educator, and beloved mentor.
Deborah was bon on March 29, 1954, in Amarillo Texas to Mary and Larry Moore. She graduated from Alamogordo HS (1971) and went on to Nursing School in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Where she received her LPN. Later Graduating with her bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from New Mexico State University. Over 40 years in nursing from LPN, RN and Director of Nursing. Nursing was her calling; she enjoyed her work every day. Not everyone gets to find their calling in life so early in their career. Debbie enjoyed two callings as she thoroughly enjoyed teaching just as much.
She taught at New Mexico State University, Dona Ana Community College (Nursing program) for several years. She really enjoyed her students and made several lifelong friends throughout her career in nursing.
Deborah was preceded in death by her dad and mom, and two brothers, Donald Moore, David Moore.
She is survived by her loving husband James (Buddy) Coulter and their two daughters Shawna White (Deandre) and Angela Barber (John). Five grandchildren, Ashlee, Tevin, Barry, Alex, Johnnie, one great granddaughter Charlee, and her favorite sister Joan Whitely (John) nieces, Katrina, Victoria; nephews, Kristopher, Kevin and Donald, Jr.; and numerous Great nieces and nephews.
Her love for her beloved Buddy, her sense of humor and honest way of approaching life is what her loved ones will miss most.
No funeral services will be held as it was Debbie’s wishes. No tears, just enjoy your memories made with her. Her family is hosting a private celebration of life and ask that in lieu of flowers a donation to St. Jude’s cancer research be made in her honor.
