It is with Great Sadness we announce the passing of our Beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandma, Great-Great Grandma and Friend. Elisa ‘Licha’ 93yrs of Las Cruces, N.M., Entered Eternal Life on February 12, 2021.Born to Jesus Fernandez Sr. and Josepha Ortega Fernandez. Baptized and a Communicant at St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church. She was a very Loving Person & Lived Life to its fullest. She cherished watching all the Children in her life, calling her Auntie Licha or Grandma Licha, one of her favorite past time was playing Bingo, we will miss her dearly. Those Left to mourn her passing include, Daughter Pauline Fernandez of Las Cruces, N.M.,Son Tony Fernandez (Sandy) of La Mesa, N.M.; Brother Richard O. Fernandez (Patricia) of Los Lunas, N.M; Sisters Margaret F. Apodaca, Elvira F. Esparza of Las Cruces, N.M.; Mariarita F. Tellez (Filimon) of Yuma, Az.; Granddaughters Michelle L. Gutierrez (Guy) Longmont, Co., Andrea Fernandez, Severance, Co.; Great Grand Children, Sabrina, Monica, Marisa, Janelle (Travis), Veronica, Rueben (Rachel).; Great-great-grandchildren, Aria, Bailey, Joseph, Lily, Brecken, Amilia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elisa ‘Licha’ was preceded in death by her Parents Jesus Sr.& Josepha O. Fernandez, one son David; Three Sisters- Lupe Fernandez, Amelia Contreras-Nabor, Dolores (LoLa) F. Rivera; Six Brothers-Apolonio, Reyes, Carlos (Charlie), Julian, Arturo (Tudy), Jesus (Junie) Jr.; Brothers-In law, Jose Apodaca, Augustine Esparza, Robert Rivera. Serving as Pallbearers will be, Isaac J. Barela, Benji Medina, George Pallarez, Andrea Fernandez, Jody Fernandez, David Apodaca. Visitation and Services for Elisa (Licha) Fernandez will be February 24, 2021, at St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina, Las Cruces, N.M., Viewing is scheduled for 12:00pm, Prayer Vigil 1:00pm, Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at St. Joseph/San Jose Cemetery,
Las Cruces, N.M. (Across the street from St. Genevieve’s Church).
