Thank you for posting Uncle Byron, i was thinking that must have been emotional to write. But then i felt the joy and I felt Mamacille, and yes the twinkle in her eye, she so had. And i learned a lot, I didn't know about your great grandfather , add another great for me, being port keeper of Mazatlan. And then with Mamacita’s dad being merchant sailor, we really do have not just the desert but the sea in out veins. And then finishing reading, the testament to yes it was emotional. I can only imagine a tear streaked page.
One time not too long ago she told me about how the tramps like Woody Guthrie who would ride the trains, how one came to her porch and he was polite and she fed him. A piece of pie may have been included. And I remember, in Italy where our closeness and kindredship blossomed, she would wake at dawn in cheerful mood ( here we diverged, me more groggy and a night owl) and whistling and humming with and like the birds themselves. We went to St Francis’ crypt together and that was one of my top spiritual experiences, along with being in another ancient rounded stone monastery with her there and coming upon a group of traveling French Gregorian Chanting Monks singing the most beautiful mass in waves if incense being swung in a decanter.. we both were like bees to honey and stayed in there rapt and listening long after our group had dispersed. Then I knew we had similar raptures of the heart, and a closeness in my adult life was born with her. Desiree
