Cousin Diane, Johnny, Ben Jr. and Family, We wish to express our condolences in your loss of your father (Our Uncle) and let you know that our thoughts are with you. "Those we love don't go away they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." We know about these words because we have been where you are now recently. Today, Our Holy Father has the clock and Uncle Ben had all the time he would allow. He suffered until God finally said “I have the right to assignment. Your mission on earth has been accomplished! Uncle has completed his DASH here on earth and taken his first step into eternity; that cycle of birth, life, death and return to his Creator 33,098 days later, to the place that the Lord Jesus Christ has reserved for him for his good deeds. That dash between (August 23, 1929 – March 5, 2020) those years represent all the time he spent alive on earth and those who loved him know how much that line is worth.

Uncle Ben, knew what the right to assignment meant while he worked at White Sands Missile Range for 38 years; no doubt the Lord will grant him all the fringe benefits that he was granted for being a loyal servant here on Earth. Any assignment The Lord gives him he’ll get it done. He served God, his family, and community well! Uncle served under two flags: The American Flag and his bible. He had many friends and will be highly missed. May you find comfort in the word of God during this difficult time. Praying for you today and the days ahead. “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Aside from that, I grew up in Salt Creek (Fulton Heights) in Pueblo Colorado and lived in the house that Uncle Ben built for his mother (Granma Elena) in the 40’s, how cool is that! Our lives crossed many paths - Aunt and Uncle visited our home when they would visit family in Pueblo. As a kid I will always remember when they would visit Granma Elena and what a delight it was to see him and his family drive up in their white 1950 Ford. In 1992, at a Hernandez reunion I had the privilege of interviewing him and his brothers and sisters, asking them the hard questions concerning their upbringing. What a fun day that was! Last year I had a few lengthy conversations by phone with Uncle Ben, concerning the Hernandez family history and his life in general (because of his hearing impairment) Diane assisted. His words will forever echo in my heart.
May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand. Farewell Uncle, your work here is done we know you are in a much better place now :)
