The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jo Bloom can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Ian Miller
Condolence: My deepest sympathy to John. I always saw Jo as a deeply caring person, and while our contacts were few, they were memorable. Who else would help a guide help sort out an underwear problem on a dirt mound at Afrasiab? As a consolation, it was a life well lived.

Condolence: Jo was a real profile in courage. We did so admire her spirit and determination. She and John had such a wonderful marriage. It was wonderful to see them together. Such a fantastic team. Our love and prayers.

Condolence: Jo Tice Bloom! I struggle to sort out memories of you: friend, historian, educator, Girl Scout! My fist memory is of you calmly knitting, third willingly volunteering for EVERYTHING, fourth taking odd occasions with my young children with humor, fifth, becoming a hurricane prep expert and in midst of shoring up, helping with groups and other visitors.

I’m sure there’s more to remember dear “Josie McFee” , but this is more than enough to say hail and farewell dear friend! Love

Condolence: John,
We are so saddened to hear about Jo. Gus sent us the information and we remember all the great times we had at the Western History Association conventions.

Since my diagnosis and inability to travel we want you know we will be thinking of you at this time. This is a time of reflection and memories and we do have many! All the moments of laughter, great discussions, and the warmth of our friendship with both of you.

With warm regards,
Bob and Peggy Larson

Condolence: To Jo's love ones. Please, accept my sincere condolences. Even though, I know of no words to rid you of your pain during this most difficult time. May our prayers, help, strengthen us, and our memories, comfort us. At Isaiah 25:8; 26:19 we look forward to seeing our love ones again as God, lovingly promises.
