Nathaniel Adam Montoya

Nathaniel Adam Montoya passed away in Las Cruces, NM on February 17th, 2018, at the age of 22.
Nathaniel is survived by his parents, Alexander and Jasmine Green of Las Cruces and Adam and Maria Angel Montoya of Hatch, New Mexico. Nathaniel leaves behind his siblings, Keesha Chavez of Las Cruces, Alexis and Emerald Green of Las Cruces, Adrianna and Leonard Montoya of Hatch, and Deanna Rey of Alamogordo. He is also survived by his grandfather Refugio Chavez of Carrizozo, and his grandmother’s Pauline Chavez of Carrizozo, Teresa Montoya of Las Cruces and Barbara Darnell of El Paso. He is preceded in death by his grandfather’s Henry Hovey of Las Cruces and Natalio Chavez of Carrizozo, New Mexico and his grandmother Pamela Bielefeld of Arizona. He is survived by his godparents, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Nathaniel was born on September 18th, 1995 in Las Cruces, NM. He graduated from Onate High School in 2014, he attended Camino Middle school and was part of the football team. Nathaniel had a contagious smile, a big heart and was a very hard worker. Nathaniel had a knack for taking things apart and putting them back together, most recently he was working for Labor Max and aspired to go back to school to become a culinary chef.
A celebration of life ceremony is scheduled for 5 pm on Friday, March 9th, 2018 at Victory Outreach Church (1400 El Paseo Drive, Las Cruces) with a reception to follow. A funeral mass and interment of cremated remains will be held on Saturday, March 10th in Carrizozo, NM at St. Rita Catholic Church at 11 am with reception to follow.
